Reel Chance clears the checks it used to miss. Official rules are footer-linked, American Sweepstakes & Promotion Co., Inc. is named as third-party administrator, the live promotion carries a stated ARV of $200,000 with published dates, and a handwritten mail-in entry exists. The winners page is real but thin, and one winner is still pending.

What does Reel Chance actually sell?

Reel Chance is an ocean and fishing themed apparel and gear shop: tees, hoodies, water bottles and a "First Catch Collection" priced from $40 to $70. Direct entry purchases run from $25 to $200.

The merchandise is the legal product, not a technicality. A private lottery needs prize, chance and consideration in the same transaction, and a free entry route with identical odds is what removes the consideration element.

Ask the honest question before you check out. Would you buy this hoodie at this price with no boat attached? If not, the merchandise is a raffle ticket and you should price it that way. The company also states that every purchase helps remove plastic bottles from the ocean, which we could not independently audit.

How does the Reel Chance giveaway work?

Four routes, and two of them are free.

Paid route one is merchandise, where entries scale with the price. Paid route two is the VIP program: Crew, Deckhand, First Mate and Captain at $15, $25, $40 and $100 a month, granting 40, 200, 500 and 2,000 entries, each tier also stating 5 to 50 ocean plastic bottles removed monthly.

Free route one is the mail-in. A handwritten card to ReelChance Sweepstakes, PO Box 398, Macedon, NY 14502-0398, is worth 10 entries. Free route two is reviews: 30 entries for a Google or Facebook review, capped at 60.

Run that arithmetic. Two reviews plus one mailed card is 70 entries at no cost, against the 40 the $15 Crew tier grants. The free routes, used once, beat the entry-level subscription outright.

Now the paid arithmetic. Crew works out to 37.5 cents per entry and Captain to 5 cents, a ladder designed to push you up it. Recurring VIP subscriptions are the highest-margin piece of this business and the easiest thing in it to forget you are paying for. Captain held for a year is $1,200. Put the renewal date somewhere you will see it. And the total entry pool is not published, so 2,000 entries a month is a number rather than odds.

What is running now, and what happened to the last one?

The live promotion is ReelChance #3, the "LTB 25." The prize is a 2025 Latitude Tournament Boats LTB 25 center console with a 300 HP Mercury V8 Verado, or $100,000 in cash instead, and the homepage adds an $8,500 bonus bundle of an electric reel, a rod, an adjustable butt and a MEGACHILL platform. Stated ARV is $200,000. It opened August 20 and closes November 19, 2026 at 11:59:59 p.m. ET, winner drawn on or about November 25. The homepage says November 24, a one-day discrepancy against the rules.

That is close to double the previous prize, which carried a stated ARV of $105,000. Read the current rules page rather than assuming the scale you saw last time still applies.

We also need to correct our own earlier reporting. That prior prize was a 2024 Skeeter SX241 bay boat plus $15,000 in cash. We previously described it as including a Sea-Doo, and that was wrong. The Sea-Doo FishPro Trophy 170 was a separate, earlier prize, won by Kurt L. of Wisconsin.

The Skeeter promotion ran May 11 to September 3, 2026, with the drawing on or about September 9. At our last check the winners page showed it as "Winner Pending" with a photo and stated the announcement for September 10. Whether that name has since been published is the thing to check before you spend money here. A promotion that closes and pays out on schedule is the strongest evidence an operator in this category can offer.

Eligibility is the United States and Canada, 18 or the age of majority. A $200,000 ARV is taxable income in the year received, reported on Form 1099-MISC, and the bill runs into the tens of thousands. The $100,000 cash alternative is the escape hatch: taking cash instead of the boat leaves you money to pay the tax with.

Why do the free entry instructions contradict themselves?

Reel Chance publishes two different sets of free entry instructions, and only one is right for the promotion you are entering.

The per-giveaway rules give the Macedon PO box above at 10 entries per card and name the administrator. The generic house-rules page gives a different mailing address at a different rate, capped at 25 entries per day, and names no administrator. The Macedon box and the administrator appear only in the per-giveaway rules.

A reader who lands on the house-rules page first, which is easy because it is linked site-wide, mails free entries to the wrong address, and those are exactly the entries you were relying on if you did not want the merchandise. Use the per-giveaway rules at reelchance.us/pages/2025-ltb-25-rules and mail to PO Box 398, Macedon, NY 14502-0398. It is a navigation trap rather than a signal about intent, and it still costs entrants.

The split also affects state exclusions: the per-giveaway rules list none, while the house-rules page voids Rhode Island and bars Georgia residents from cash-prize promotions.

Who is this for, and who should skip it?

This fits an angler who wants the apparel, would use an LTB 25 or take the $100,000 instead, and is comfortable with partial winner names. If you want entries without spending, leave two reviews and mail a card to the Macedon box. Skip it if you would be buying gear you do not want, if a $200,000 prize would put you in a tax position you cannot handle, or if you want the pending Skeeter winner named before you commit.
